General

I forgot my username or password, how can I recover it?

After opening the app, click the Login button then press the Forgot Password? link. Follow the next steps and we can help you recover both your username and password.

How can I change my password?

After logging in, click the Home button in the lower left hand corner and then click the Settings & Privacy link. On this page, change your password by clicking the button Change Password and follow the next steps.

I didn't get the OTP verification code SMS'd to my number, what can I do?

If you requested a verification code to access your account, reset your password or make other changes but it never arrived - you can simply press the link Resend and we will resend to you the code. If you don't receive the code again please contact support: hello@conectup.com

Can I adjust who sees in my last active time?

Click the More button in the lower right hand corner and then click the Settings & Privacy link. On this page, click the option for Privacy. On this page, you can select the option Last Seen and adjust who can see your last active time.

Why do I have to select an interest?

The purpose of our app is to connect you with real, active individuals in business sectors that interest you. By helping our artificial intelligence system to begin connecting you with relevant people immediately then the system will take over to help you make the best business connects.

Why do I need to fill out the About Me and Looking For in my profile?

These sections will be showcased on your public profile for like-minded individuals to see. Think of it like your digitial business card: if it doesn't stand out, it may end up at the bottom of the pile. You don't need to write an essay, just enough for people to quickly learn about you and the things you are in need of to help your business so if users have that skill set they can connect with you.

Can I adjust the types of notifications that I get?

Click the More button in the lower right hand corner and then click the Settings & Privacy link. On this page there is a section that allows you to adjust the type of notifications you get, how often, the tone and vibration for them. We want ConnectUp to be a tool for your success, not an annoying app.

We love hearing from our users and provide 24/7 free support for our application. Click the more button, then select Help & Support to reach out to us with any questions or comments that you have.

Connections

If someone rejects me, is there a way to connect with them?

We don't want to waste time: if there isn't mutual interest, you will not be shown each others profiles.

Is there a way to remove a connection that I made?

If you connected with someone by accident, you can remove the connection by selecting the chat and pressing the three little dots in the upper right hand corner - then press delete user.

Where do I find my pending connections?

Click the bell icon in the upper right hand corner to see pending connections. You can easily accept or deny new connections from here as well.

How can I block someone?

Select the chat of individual you wish to block. Then press the three little dots in the upper right hand corner to open up a small menu, then select Block.

How can I see & edit my blocked contacts?

Click the More button in the lower right hand corner and then click the Settings & Privacy link. On this page, click the option for Privacy. On this page, you can view and modify your blocked users by clicking the link Blocked Contacts.

Chatting

What is a Secret Chat?

Secret chats are end to end encrypted chats to discuss private business topics with individuals you connect with. Nobody, and I mean nobody besides you and the other individual can see the content of the messages. In secret chats you can also set a time for messages to expire so they will automatically delete. We love privacy!

Is there a way to remove a connection that I made?

Please select the chat of individual you wish to mute notifications on. Then press the three little dots in the upper right hand corner to open up a small menu, then select Mute Notifications. This will prevent your phone from notifying you of new messages.

Can you create group chats?

You sure can! When you click into your messages, select the option New Group and you can select multiple users to join into a single chat. This is a great way to use the connections that you made to start creating something incredible.

How do I exit a group I was added to

Select the group chat you wish to exit. Then press the three little dots in the upper right hand corner to open up a small menu, then select Exit Group.

How can I remove people from group chats?

Please select the group chat you'd like to remove people from. Inside the group chat, press the three little dots in the upper right hand corner to open up a small menu. In this small menu, select Group Information and then you will see a list of all of the members. Click the three dots next to the specific user and select Delete Member to remove them from the group.

How can I make someone an admin in a group chat?

Select the group chat you'd like to select a member to be an administrator in. Inside the group chat, press the three little dots in the upper right hand corner to open up a small menu. In this small menu, select Group Information and then you will see a list of all of the members. Click the three dots next to the specific user and select Make Administrator.

Groups

Can a report a group, a post or comment for a policy violation?

Absolutely, if you see a post that violates our policy (spam, hate speech, bullying, false information or otherwise not meant to be on our platform), you can click the three dots to the right of the post, select the Report Post link, then select why you are reporting it. Our moderators will review the post immediately to determine if it is meant to be on the ConnectUp platform.

Can I delete a comment or post that I made in a group?

Yes! Select the three dots next to the post you would like to delete, then select the Delete link to remove it.

Can I remove members, or upgrade them to administrator in my own group?

Yes! Select the group that you are operating, then select the People tab at the top. In the next section you will see all of the members that are part of your group. Next to their name is three dots, if you click that you can select to either Remove, Block, Make Admin or Revoke Admin for that selected user.

How can I share a link to a group?

Select the group that you would like to share, then click the three buttons in the upper right hand of the group. Select the link \"Copy Link\" and you will get the direct link to the group that you can share with your friends on or off the ConnectUp platform.

How can I manage my groups join requests, banned users, blocked users and reported posts?

Select the group that you are the administrator of, then click the three dots in the upper right hand corner. Select the Settings link, then you will be displayed a full menu where you can easily manage blocked users, pending requests and reported posts. This will help you moderate your group easily and efficiently.

What type of jobs can I post?

You can post long term jobs, freelancer jobs, specific gigs, part time and full time – ConnectUp makes it extremely easy for you to hire for any position you're looking for.

How do I reject, approve or shortlist applicants for my job listing?

Click the job that you posted, then select the tab Applicants at the top. In here you will see the individuals that applied for your job, and next to their name is three dots. Click the three dot button, then select what function you would like to do.

What is a Shortlist?

Shortlisting is the process of identifying the candidates from your applicant pool who best meet the required and desired criteria for the open req and who you want to move forward onto the next step of your recruitment process, which is usually some form of interview. By moving an applicant to a shortlist, it will allow you to quickly see the best candidates for your job in the hiring process.

What is the Showcase?

ConnectUp is a platform for creators to connect with the world: the showcase is a section for companies to connect with investors to help with the fundraising process. Inside, investors can easily connect with companies to provide funding or services to them in exchange for equity and other means of compensation.
